Red Hawks Split Saturday Doubleheader with Strong Sweep of Jackson
Lake Michigan College bounced back from a morning loss at Edison State with a dominant sweep of Jackson College to close out Saturday’s road doubleheader.
After falling 3–0 to Edison State in the opener (25–18, 25–20, 25–19), the Red Hawks responded with one of their strongest performances of the season, sweeping Jackson College 25–9, 25–10, 25–17. Against Edison State, LMC was led by Grace Richardson's seven kills, with Payton Miller, Mara Webb, Emma Lewis, and Tatyanna Hill each adding six. Randi Taylor posted 14 assists and 10 digs, while Mackenzie Ash hit .300 with four kills.
In the second match, Lake Michigan dominated offensively, hitting .338 as a team. Payton Miller (10 kills), Grace Richardson (9), and Emma Lewis (5) powered the attack, while setters Randi Taylor (21 assists) and Kaydence Jacobs (7 assists, 5 aces) controlled the pace. Josie Wilson and Mia Graziani added sparks off the bench, each contributing kills in the win.
The Red Hawks improved their rhythm as the day progressed and left the event with a strong, confidence-building sweep.
