Red Hawks Swept in Doubleheader at Harper College
Lake Michigan College faced a challenging day on the road, dropping back-to-back matches against St. Ambrose and Harper College in tight contests.
Lake Michigan College battled through two tough matches Saturday, but fell in straight sets in both contests.
In the first match, the Red Hawks lost a close one to St. Ambrose, 26–24, 28–26, 25–23. Payton Miller led the team with 12.5 kills, while Grace Richardson added 12. Mara Webb contributed 10.5 kills, and Randi Taylor directed the offense with 15 assists. Despite strong performances, St. Ambrose capitalized on late-set errors to clinch the sweep.
In the second match against host Harper College, LMC struggled to find consistency and dropped sets 25–9, 25–22, 25–19. The Red Hawks' top performers included Mara Webb with 7.5 kills, Grace Richardson with 7, and Payton Miller with 6. LMC also had solid defensive work from Randi Taylor (3 digs) and Delani Cole (3 digs), but Harper maintained control through balanced attacking and serving to complete the day's sweep.
The Red Hawks now turn their focus to upcoming home matches, looking to rebound from a challenging doubleheader on the road.
