Red Hawks Fall in Four Sets to Kellogg Community College in Conference Opener
Lake Michigan College opened strong but could not sustain momentum in a 3-1 road loss to Kellogg Community College.
Lake Michigan College edged close in multiple sets but ultimately fell 26-24, 22-25, 25-22, 25-15 to Kellogg Community College. The Red Hawks hit .385 in the opening frame behind 19 kills, but struggled to maintain offensive consistency as the match progressed, finishing at .111 overall.
Grace Richardson led LMC with 11 kills, while Payton Miller and Emma Lewis added 8 apiece. Setter Randi Taylor guided the offense with 18 assists and contributed 12 digs, and libero Meghan Marschak anchored the defense with 24 digs. Kaydence Jacobs added 12 assists and 2 aces, providing a spark from the service line.
Kellogg countered with a balanced attack, hitting .152 as a team and receiving major production from Emilia Henneman-Dallape, who posted 16 kills on .500 hitting. Brooke Koskele and Maya Valentine added 9 kills each, while setter Addison Tucker distributed 29 assists to control the pace.
Despite a competitive start, Lake Michigan College was unable to recover after dropping the pivotal third set, allowing Kellogg to pull away late and secure the match.
