Lake Michigan College wasted no time asserting control on the road, scoring twice in the opening minutes to defeat Grand Rapids Community College 2-0 on October 1. Andres Hernandez and Miguel Solis-Salazar each found the back of the net immediately, setting the tone for the Red Hawks. Goalkeeper Gabe James made four saves to preserve the clean sheet, while the LMC defense limited GRCC to just 14 shots.
