LMC Women Gain Valuable Experience in Loaded 5,000-Meter Field
Red Hawks gain experience against four-year programs
Lake Michigan College women's cross country team measured itself against a wide range of four-year programs in a women's 5,000-meter race at the Bethel Invitational, using the meet as an opportunity to gain experience and evaluate progress against deeper four-year programs.
Lake Michigan College was led by freshman Ayana Harris, who placed 42nd overall in 23:36.3. Harris set the tone for a young Red Hawks squad that featured several first-year runners navigating a fast early pace and a large field.
Freshmen Evelyn Bettig (51st, 24:45.6), Ariel Smith (66th, 27:23.7), Olivia Howard (68th, 30:13.8), Christina Gibson (72nd, 31:58.5), and Makenna Rigg (73rd, 32:07.3) rounded out the LMC finishers.
