Great Night For The Red Hawks
The Red Hawks defended their home court for their annual Dig Pink event securing the win against a tough Roadrunner squad.
It was a five game match that went back and forth between two exceptional teams. Lake Michigan started out strong in game one earning the win 25-17. In game two, the Roadrunners battled back to secure the win 19-25. The Red hawks pushed hard in game three with tough serving and exceptional passing to win 25-18. In game four, the Red Hawks had the lead much of the game but a string of unforced errors paved the way for the Roadrunners to steal the win 25-21. Game five was a battle back and forth however, the women gained momentum from amazing serving and aggressive swinging and earned the win 15-10.
The offensive players of the game were Payton Miller with 18 kills, and a .441 hitting percentage while Taylor Butler earned 10 kills, one solo block, one block assist and a .320 hitting percentage finally Mackenzie Ash contributed nine kills, two block assists and a .240 hitting percentage. The defensive players of the game were Kaylee McDaniels with 21 digs, 39 assists, four kills, and four aces while Jessica Hand and Olivia Still both earned 15 digs in the match.
The Red Hawks are now 8-3 in conference play, 13-17 overall and have punched their ticket to regionals. This win put the team in second place in the MCCAA Western Conference. The team plays their last conference match this Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Lansing. Lansing is currently number one in the West Conference so it is sure to be a great match. We are Talon Tough!
