Red Hawks Sweep The Bruins
The Red Hawks, currently fourth place in the MCCAA West conference, were able top the 2nd place Bruins 3-0.
This was a big win for the Red Hawks and will help them to get one step closer to a NJCAA Regional XII appearance again this season. The team started out strong in the first match with 12 kills and only four errors paving the way to a 25-18 win. In game two, the team played a more consistent match reducing their errors and walked away with a significant win of 25-14. In the final game, the Bruins came out strong battling for every point but the Red Hawks were able to finish the match 25-23 because of their tough serving and blocking. Offensive players of the game were Jillian Bruckner with 14 kills, five errors, .237 hitting percentage, and a solo block while Sammi Jurgensen earned 8 kills and a .300 hitting percentage. The defensive players of the game were Jessica Hand with 14 digs, Olivia Still with 11 digs, and Kaylee McDaniel with 11 digs, 27 assists and four aces. The Red Hawks are currently 4-3 in conference play and 7-17 overall.
The team travels to Glen Oaks for another conference match this Thursday, October 2024, at 6:30pm.
