Red Hawks Fall To Edison State And Jackson At Glen Oaks
The team traveled to Centerville to take on Edison State and Jackson College hosted by Glen Oaks.
Match one was a three-game battle against the Edision State Chargers. The game was a tight match, but the Chargers won 25-19, 25-18, 25-19. Offensive leaders for this game were Jillian Bruckner with 11 kills, eight digs, .321 hitting percentage and one solo block. Payton Miller earned nine kills, .207 hitting percentage, two solo blocks and two block assists, while Taylor Butler tallied eight kills, .240 hitting percentage, five digs and one ace. Defensive leaders for this game were Jessica Hand with 22 digs, and four assists and Kaylee McDaniel with 24 digs, 33 assists, and 1 ace.
Next up the Red Hawks took on the Jackson Jets from the Eastern Conference. It was a slow start for the Lady Red Hawks losing 15-25 in game one. In game two and three the team battled back and forth with the Jets but were unable to secure the win losing 22-25, 22-25. The offensive leaders of match two were Taylor Butler with eight kills, .174 hitting percentage, and three block assists. Jillian Bruckner earned seven kills, .130 hitting percentage, six digs, and one block assist. The defensive leader of match two was Jessica Hand with 16 digs, two assists and one ace.
The Red Hawks ended up 0-2 on the day and 1-9 on the season.
