Red Hawks Defeat The Bruins
The Red Hawks defeat the Kellogg Bruins 3-1 at home (25-15, 23-25, 25-13, 25-14). The team continues to remain in first place in the Western conference after this win.
The offensive player of the game was Faith Lewis earning 12 kills, a .360 hitting percentage, and three block assists. Abi Nunez had 10 kills, three assists, and two aces, 12 digs, and one block assist. Hayleah McFadden contributed 6 kills, a .556 hitting percentage, one assist, four digs, and one block assist while Karissa Gest earned three kills, one dig, and one block assist. In the middle, Jermara Blackmon earned seven kills, one solo block, and three block assists. The defensive player of the match was Leiana Butler with 13 digs, two kills, two assists and two aces. Teagan Giannunzio also excelled in the back row earning 12 digs, two assists, and three aces. Olivia Deeb as the setter had another great match contributing 35 assists, seven kills, five aces, five digs and three block assists. Next week Thursday, Oct 27th the Red Hawks will host a Dig Pink event vs SMC. This will be their last conference match of the season. This event is meant to promote cancer awareness and help raise funds for cancer research. We will take time to support the fighters, admire the survivors, and honor the taken during this event.
