Lake Michigan Sweeps The Chargers
The team swept the Ancilla Chargers (25-14, 25-15, 25-15) at home on Monday night.
This win moves the team to 8-2 in conference play. The Red Hawks only have two more conference matches left this season. They hope to continue winning and earn a first place finish in the Western conference and move on to the State tournament on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The teams offense and defense proved to be exceptional tonight paving the way for the win. The offensive leader tonight was Gabby Cuthbert with nine kills, a .500 hitting percentage, one assist, one ace, six digs and one block assist. Abi Nunez contributed five kills, nine digs, and three block assists. Hayleah Mcfadden earned five kills, two assists, one block assist. Jermara Blakmon contributed five kills, one assist, and three block assists while Faith Lewis earned six kills, a .357 hitting percentage, one assist, one solo block and three block assists in the middle. Teagan Giannunzio was the defensive player of the night with eight digs, one assist, and one ace. Leaina Butler also contributed four digs, and two aces while Emma Hasse and Jessy Silva each earned four digs. The setter Olivia Deeb, set with speed and efficiency scoring three kills, 23 assists, one ace, three digs, and one assist. The team is now 8-2 in conference and 23-10 overall. The women will host Kellogg Community College on Thursday, Octobter 19, 2022.
