Successful Night For Red Hawks
The Red Hawks defeat the Glen Oaks Vikings in a five game match (25-15, 23.25, 25-21, 13-25, 15-11) earning their seventh conference win and securing their spot in the NJCAA Region XII Tournament.
Olivia Deeb ran the offense effectively and consistently earning two kills, 41 assists, 16 digs, two solo blocks and one assist block. Abi Nunez led the offense with 18 kills, 22 digs, one solo block and one assist block. Karissa Gest was not far behind with 11 kills, one assist, eight digs, and one block assist. Hayleah McFadden earned four kills, one ace, one dig, one solo block and two assist blocks while Gabby Cuthbert contributed three kills, one dig and three block assists on the night. In the middle, Jermara Blackmon earned four kills, and three block assists while Faith Lewis had five kills, one dig, one solo block, and five assist blocks. Teagan Giannunnzio was the defensive leader of the match with 25 digs, five assists and one ace. Leiana Butler also contributed in the back row with 10 digs, and one assist while Charity Dundas earned seven digs, three kills, and one assist. The team is currently 20-9 overall and 7-1 in conference. The Red Hawks travel to Lansing Thursday to take on the Stars.
