Red Hawks Continues To Win
The Lady Red Hawks defeat KCC 3-1 in their fifth conference match of the season.
The team won the first two sets but were unable to earn the win in game three. The Bruins and Red Hawks battled back and forth in game four but in the end the Red Hawks triumphed. Olivia Deeb and Charity Dundas were the setters for the match. Olivia had seven aces, nine kills, 41 assists and 11 digs, while Charity had 10 assists and 12 digs. Abi Nunez was the offensive leader of the game contributing 15 kills, and 22 digs. Karissa Gest also added to the offense with 14 kill, and six digs. Hayleah McFadden hit with a .400 hitting efficiency on the right side earning eight kills, and four digs. Gabby Cuthbert earned five kills and one dig to complete the offense. In the middle, Faith Lewis contributed seven kills, and four block assists while Mara Blackmon had six kills and one block assist. The defensive leader of the match was Tegan Giannunzio with 23 digs, seven assists and two aces. Leiana Butler also made significant contributions in the back row earning 15 digs and two assists. The Lady Red Hawks are currently 5-0 in conference and 17-3 overall. The team heads to GRCC on 10/1- 10/2 to compete against Carl Sandburg, Mott, Oakland, and GRCC. It is going to be a great weekend!
