Great Weekend For The Red Hawks
The LMC volleyball team traveled to Joliet this weekend to compete in the JJC invite.
The team finished 3-1 at the event losing to Kaskaskia in their first match then defeating Lincoln Trail, Rend Lake, and Joliet. Abigail Nunez lead the offense with 49 kills, two assists, three aces, 54 digs and two solo blocks. Karissa Gest had 31 kills, three aces, 25 digs, and two block assists. Gabby Cuthbert contributed 20 kills, one ace, and eight digs while Hayleah McFadden added 19 kills, one ace and two digs. In the middle, Jermara Blackmon had 22 kills, 11 solo blocks, and five assist blocks while Faith Lewis earned 21 kills 12 solo blocks and two assist blocks. Teagan Giannunzio was the stat leader in the back row with 53 digs, 21 assists, and three aces. Leiana Butler contributed as well earning 28 digs and two assists. Charity Dundas also worked hard in the back row earning 27 digs, one kill, 23 assists and three aces. Olivia Deeb, as our setter, ran the floor with speed and efficiency earning 114 assists, 13 kills, seven aces, 29 digs, two solo blocks and three assist blocks. It was a great weekend for the Lady Red Hawks! The team is currently 14-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
