Lady Red Hawks Dominate The Tigers
The Lake Michigan Women’s Volleyball team defeats Grace Christian in 3 at home 25-23, 25-22, 25-13.
The Lady Red Hawks started off to a slow start in game one but managed to re-focus and get the win. In game two, Lake Michigan started out very strong with a 5-0 lead over the Tigers. The Grace Christian defense worked hard and continued to fight the Red Hawk offense. It was a battle back and forth in the later part of game two, but the red hawks finished with a 25-22 win. In game three, the team played very consistently and ran their offense well which helped them to win the final game and match. Olivia Deeb ran the offense with 30 assists, two kills, two aces, and 16 digs. Teagan Giannunzio as the libero earned 26 digs, four assists and four aces. Hayleah Mcfadden and Leiana Butler contributed defensively with eight digs each. Abi Nunez was our offensive leader with 14 kills, one ace and nine digs,while Karissa Gest had nine kills, one assist and four digs. Mara Blackmon played an incredible match in the middle with eight kills, a .333 hitting percentage, and one solo block. The Red Hawks are now 9-2 overall. They play their first conference match versus Kalamazoo Valley Community College at home on September 13, 2022 at 6:30 pm.
