Women Sweep The Day
The Red Hawk Volleyball Team was on the road to Macomb Community College Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 and swept their competition.
The women's serving, serve receiving passing, and hitting efficiency helped pave the way for the Red Hawks to defeat #6 Terra state and Macomb Community College in straight sets making their overall record 5-1. The Defensive player of the match was Teagan Giannunzio with 28 digs, six assists and six aces. Olivia Deeb ran the offense effectively earning a total of 49 assists, six kills, 15 digs, and five aces. Abi Nunez led the offense, for the second week in a row, with 18 kills, five aces, and 16 digs while Karissa Gest had 11 kills, five aces, and 21 digs. Jermara Blackmon and Faith Lewis contributed eight kills each in the middle. Blackmon also added four solo blocks. Hayleah Mcfadden contributed with seven kills and two aces on the right side as Gabby Cuthbert had four kills and one ace.
