The Red Hawks took on the Raiders on Wednesday, falling 4-0 on October 1. Despite the loss, goalkeeper Gracie Pond turned in a strong performance for the Red Hawks, recording seven saves while facing 11 shots on goal. LMC worked to slow GRCC's attack throughout the match and held the Raiders to just one goal over the opening 40 minutes before a late first-half strike made it 2-0 at the break. Pond continued to anchor the back line in the second half as the Red Hawks faced 13 additional shots, including multiple chances off crosses and set pieces.
While the Red Hawks were unable to generate a shot on the day, the team continued to compete defensively, committing no fouls. Lake Michigan will regroup and look ahead to its upcoming match on October 5.
