Lady Red Hawks Struggle Against Delta
The Lady Red Hawks struggled in the first half against the Lady Pioneers and fell 6-0.
Lake Michigan took to the field and had difficulty adjusting to the fast pace of Delta College. The Lady Pioneers offense was able to shoot off several shots against the Lady Red Hawks but strong goalie Victoria Smith saved the team 13 times. Delta was able to break through the Lake Michigan defenders four times leaving the Lady Red Hawks down 0-4.
In the second half, the women regrouped and began to slow down the Lady Pioneer offense. Lake Michigan also found ways to break through the Delta defense. Lizbeth Perez Negron Diaz and Maya Ortiz both were able to take shots on goal. On defense, Victoria Smith also stayed strong and had seven saves. The Lady Pioneers were able to squeak two goals in defeating the Lady Red Hawks 6-0.
Lake Michigan will travel to Muskegon Community College on Saturday, September 7, 2019 with a 3:00 pm start.
