The Lake Michigan College Red Hawks battled through four tight quarters but came up just short in a 62-57 road loss to Kirtland Community College Firebirds on Saturday afternoon.

Lake Michigan College (3–8) stayed within striking distance all game and led briefly in the third quarter behind a strong offensive push from Carlee Rynearson, who finished with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds. Olivia Howard added 12 points, while Danai Childs contributed an all-around effort with eight rebounds and five assists.
The Red Hawks entered the fourth quarter down just one, but Kirtland (4–5) closed the game on a 23-point final period to secure the win. Alyssa Kiel led all scorers with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Firebirds.
Despite shooting struggles from beyond the arc, Lake Michigan College forced key turnovers and stayed competitive until the final minutes.
