Young was nearly unstoppable, pouring in 34 points on 15 of 18 shooting while adding 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and an eye-catching 11 steals. Her explosive fourth quarter, part of a 35-8 LMC run, turned a solid lead into a full-scale rout. LMC controlled the game early, jumping out to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter and never letting the Timberwolves creep back within single digits. The Red Hawks dominated the glass with a 63-50 rebounding average, including 22 on the offensive end. Freshman guard Olivia Howard provided a spark off the bench with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Danai Childs (13 points, 6 assists) and Emma Norton (9points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals) helped fuel LMC's balanced attack.
The Red Hawks return to action tomorrow versus Kirtland Community College in the second day of the North Central Michigan Timberwolves Tip-Off Tournament.
