Lake Michigan College Dominates Montcalm, 85-51
Lake Michigan College improved to 3-3 on the season with an impressive 85-51 home victory over Montcalm Community College, using balanced scoring, relentless rebounding, and a suffocating defensive effort to put the game out of reach early.
The Red Hawks exploded out of the gate with a 21-4 first quarter, setting the tone with high-pressure defense and strong interior play. Despite a tighter second quarter, LMC pulled away for good in the second half, outscoring Montcalm 52-35 over the final 20 minutes. Freshman Olivia Howard delivered her best performance of the season, dominating the paint with 18 points and 12 rebounds on 8-of-16 shooting. She controlled the offensive glass, helping LMC to 11 offensive boards. Freshman Miley Young added another all-around performance with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and assists. Grace Richardson stretched the floor effectively, scoring points and knocking down four threes, while Serenity Farmer added 13 points and 7 rebounds, hitting 3-of-9 from deep.
With the victory, the Red Hawks continue to show strong chemistry and depth, setting the stage for a challenging stretch of nonconference play.
