Red Hawks Have Successful Week
The women had three quick games and ended up 2-1 and a 5-2 overall record.
Lady Red Hawks traveled to Hope College Tuesday night to play the Flying Dutch. They struggled to get defensive stops and forced many turnovers in the first half which led to a 33-48 halftime score with the Flying Dutch leading the way. With a little momentum to start the second half the lady Red Hawks were able to make a short scoring run but fell short by 10 points losing 76-66. Aaliyah Reno led the Red Hawks with 21 points five of which came from the three-point line, Kalyah Watson chipped in 19 points and four assists, and Aalyah Watson finishing with 15 points and five assists. The Lady Red Hawks host Andrew's University Cardinals at home November 17th at 5:30pm.
The women then hosted Andrews University on Thursday, November 17, 2022. A consistent shooting night led to a 44-point win against Andrew's University on Thursday night. The Lady Red Hawks shot 50% from the field, 41% from the three-point line, and finishing 75% from the free-throw line. Four players scored in double digits for the Lady Red Hawks with Aaliyah Reno connecting six times at the three-point line to finish with 22 points, Arial Ford went 77% in the paint scoring 17 points, Kalyah Watson chipped in 16 points and five assists, and Ellary Darling finished with 11 points.
The Lady Red Hawks finished out there three game series Saturday, November 19, 2022 with a tough win verse Milwaukee Area Technical. After being tied up at the half, they were able to adjust on defense and gain control of the game making an 18-point run. The Stormers fought back but fell short to the Red Hawks who finished with a 67-56 win. Aaliyah Reno led with 25 points and five assists, Arial Ford scored a double-double with 19 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Kalyah Watson chipped in 12 points. This improves the Lady Red Hawks record to 5-2 on the season. They will return home on December 3, 2022 to take on Jackson College with a 1:00pm tip-off.
