The Lady Red Hawks started off the game well by playing good defense and getting opportunities on the offensive end to build an 18-12 lead after the first quarter. But in the second quarter, Schoolcraft College took advantage of the missed opportunities Lake Michigan could not convert. Schoolcraft outscored Lake Michigan 20-14 in the second quarter to tie the game up at 32-32 at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Lady Red Hawks pick up their defensive pressure, while also executing better on offense and from the free throw line. The Lady Red Hawks forced Schoolcraft to turn the ball over and in the third quarter, allowing Lake Michigan to take a 52-42 lead into the fourth quarter.
The final quarter was very similar to the third quarter where Lake Michigan continued to score and force turnovers on the defensive end from the Lady Ocelots. This led to the final 72-52 Lady Red Hawks win. Lake Michigan improved to 6-2 on the season (3-0 at home).
After the game, Head Coach, Patrick Daniel stated "Extremely proud of how we responded in the second half after being tied at halftime. We played great defense and improved our free throw shooting in the second half going 14-17 from the line and this was a great team effort and win".
