Red Hawks Split Doubleheader After Tight Battle with Ancilla
The Lake Michigan College Red Hawks closed out their April 11 doubleheader with a hard-fought 6-4 loss to Marian University Ancilla in game two, splitting the day after a dominant win earlier at home.

After taking control of game one with a 12-0 shutout, Lake Michigan found itself in a back-and-forth second matchup. The Red Hawks led early opportunities, scoring in the third and fourth innings and staying within reach before Ancilla broke through with a four-run fifth inning to pull ahead.
Lake Michigan finished with five hits in the game, led by Molly Lieske, who doubled and drove in a run. Randi Taylor also contributed an RBI double, while Kursten Smith added a hit, two runs scored, and three stolen bases. Paige Clinger and Gabby Solloway each added hits as well.
In the circle, Cecilia Conforti started and worked into the fifth inning, while Ellory Dykstra provided solid relief work, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings to keep the Red Hawks within striking distance.
Despite a late push, Lake Michigan was unable to complete the comeback, finishing the day with a split after a strong overall doubleheader performance.
