In the opener, the Red Hawks delivered one of their most exciting wins of the season. After trailing 8–3, Lake Michigan erupted for five runs in the seventh inning to tie the game, capitalizing on key hits and Kalamazoo Valley miscues.
Kursten Smith led the offense with three hits, two RBIs, and a run scored, while Kamryn Holland added two RBIs. Cecilia Conforti came through in a big moment with a two-RBI hit, and Madi Dotson contributed with two hits, including a triple.
The momentum carried into the ninth inning, where the Red Hawks pushed across the winning run to complete the comeback walk-off victory.
In the circle, Ellory Dykstra went the distance, allowing eight runs, just three earned, on nine hits while striking out six to earn the win.
In game two, Lake Michigan jumped out early and briefly took control with a two-run fifth inning to build a 3–1 lead. Randi Taylor powered the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance and an RBI, while Gabby Solloway and Ava Bachman each recorded doubles.
However, Kalamazoo Valley answered late once again, scoring twice in the sixth and adding two more in the seventh to pull away for a 5–3 win.
Cecilia Conforti started game two in the circle, allowing five runs (three earned) over 6.1 innings, with Kate Bonds recording the final two outs in relief.
