The Lady Red Hawks played some heavy hitters and came up short last week during their spring trip down south.

The women first faced Gulf Coast State College and fell 1-9 (six innings) in the first game and 0-21 (five innings) in the second game. Jaidyn Hutsell was the starting pitcher in the first game and was able to strike out three batters and had 8 hits against her. Madi Vollman then entered to finish the game out and only allowed two hits. Gabby Rothrock was the lead hitter with two singles while Cassidy Zavoral, Anna Castellucio, and Sydney Payne all had singles. 

Kiarra Herson started off the second game and allowed seven hits and then Ashley Jankowski took to the mound and allowed 13 hits and one strike out. Jankowski was the lead hitter with a double while Jaidyn Hutsell hit a solid single. 

The second match up was against Wallace Community College Dothan where the women fell 10-18 (six innings) in the first game and 5-13 (six innnings) in the second game. Jaidyn Hutsell started the first game and allowed 17 hits but struck out two batters. Anna Castellucio was the slugger for the women with a double and a single with six RBI's. Madi Vollman hit two singles and Kiarra Herson hit a single with an RBI. Gabby Rothrock, Amiyah Smith, Samantha Stewart all hit singles. 

Kiarra Herson started the second game an allowed 16 hits while striking out two batters. Anna Castellucio stepped up again with a double and two singles with an RBI while Jaidyn Hutsell hit a double with an RBI. Cassidy Zavoral, Gabby Rothrock, and Samantha Stewart all hit two singles with RBI's each. Halle Jennings and Amiyah Smith contributed with singles respectively. 

The women then traveled to Northwest Florida State College and the Lady Red Hawks fell 2-4 in the first game and 2-15 (5 innings) in the second game. Madi Vollman started the first game and only allowed five hits and struck out two batters. Cassidy Zavoral lead the offense with two singles and an RBI. Anna Castellucio, Gabby Rothrock, and Amiyah Smith all had singles. 

Ashley Jankowski started the second game and allowed six hits and then Vollman came in for relief and allowed four hits with two strike outs. Kiarra Herson led the women offensively with a double and an RBI while Cassidy Zavoral and Amiyah Smith both had singles. 

The final match up was against Lurleen B. Wallace Community College where the women fell 2-10 (5 innings) in the first game and 3-13 (5 innings) in the second game. Kiarra Herson took to the mound for the first game and allowed 10 hits with three strike outs. Jaidyn Hutsell and Halle Jennings both and singles with RBI's while Samantha Stewart and Amiyah Smith both hit singles.

In the second game, Jaidyn Hutsell started the game and allowed 11 hits as Madi Vollman came into relief and allowed a hit. Gabby Rothrock led the team with a double and a single with an RBI as Anna Castellucio hit a single with an RBI. Hutsell also hit a double while Vollman had two singles. Halle Jennings and Kiarra Herson also contributed with singles. 

The team has a few weeks off before heading to Lansing Community College on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
