Lady Red Hawks Stay Strong Against Ancilla

The first game for Lake Michigan started off well as they scored two runs in the first inning. Both teams remained quiet in the second inning and it was the Lady Chargers who took the lead in the bottom of the third scoring three runs. The Lady Red Hawks answered back in the top of the fourth inning scoring two runs and three runs in the fifth. Lake Michigan's defense was able to shut down the Lady Charger offense. The women then scored the final run of the game in the top of the seventh and took the 8-3 win.

Kiarra Herson was on the mound and struck out 11 batters while only allowing one earned run. It was a slugfest for the women with Gabby Rothrock hitting a home run and a single with two RBI's while Cassidy Zavoral hit four singles with 2 RBI's. Jordyn Swinehart, Addison Warner, and Jaidyn Hutsell all hit doubles with RBI's as Brenna Madry hit a single with an RBI. Herson hit a double while Jenna Walter hit two singles and Anna Castelluccio hit a single.

The women took the second game by storm scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. They then scored two in the third and four in the fifth to finish the game. The Lake Michigan's defense was stellar again as they did not allow one run and took the 9-0 win.

Jaidyn Hutsell was on the mound with seven strike outs and only allowing two hits. Jenna Walter hit two doubles with three RBI's. Cassidy Zavoral hit three singles with two RBI's while Gabby Rothrock hit two singles with two RBI's. Adianna Rangel hit two singles with an RBI as Brenna Madry hit a single with an RBI. Kiarra Herson and Anna Castelluccio both hit singles. 

The women will host Jackson College on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 with a 3:00 pm start.
