Lady Red Hawks Take Two Against The Lady Vikings

It was a quiet first inning in the first game as neither team scored. Glen Oaks was the first team to score in the top of the second inning pushing three runs across the plate. Lake Michigan answered back scoring six runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Red Hawks defense was able to shut down the Lady Vikings offense and they did not score another run the remainder of the game. Lake Michigan was able to score one run in the third, three in the fourth, and one more in the fifth to win the game 11-3.

Kiarra Herson was on the mound for the win striking out eight, walking two, and only allowed two hits. Several women were successful at the plate including Jordyn Swinehart and Gabby Rothrock who hit two singles with two RBI's. Herson and Jaidyn Hutsell both hit singles with two RBI's a piece while Cassidy Zavoral hit two singles with an RBI.

In the second game, the Lady Red Hawks defense was stellar and the women did not allow one Glen Oaks run. The women again dominated the plate as they scored three runs in the first and second innings. They were able to score two in the third and six in the fourth to win the game 14-0.

Jaidyn Hutsell lead the women on the mound pitching two strike outs, one walk, and only allowed three hits. Jordyn Swinehart lead the women hitting a home run and two singles with five RBI's while Hutsell hit a double and two singles with an RBI. Cassidy Zavoral hit four singles with an RBI as Kiarra Herson hit two singles with an RBI. Tegan Bays also hit a single with an RBI.

The women will travel to Ancilla College on Saturday, April 13, 2019 for a conference double header that will begin at 1:00 pm.
