First Conference Outing Ended In A Split

The Lady Red Hawks dominated the first game scoring six runs in the first three innings. Jackson answered back in the bottom of the third scoring three runs of their own. It was a scoreless fourth inning and Lady Jets scored two more in the bottom of the fifth. The next runs were scored in the top of the seventh by Lake Michigan. Jackson did not go quietly as they scored three more in the bottom of the seventh inning but it wasn't enough and the Lady Red Hawks took the 11-8 win.

Jaidyn Hutsell obtained the win with five walks and five strike outs. Cassidy Zavoral dominated at the plate with four singles and one double. Jordyn Swinehart lead in RBI's with four from her double and single hits. Kiarra Herson hit a triple and a single with two RBI's. Hutsell also had two singles with two RBI's while Breanna Madry hit two singles with one RBI. Gabby Rothrock also hit two singles. 

In the second game, it was a scoreless first inning and it was the Lady Red Hawks that scored a run in the top of the second.  The Lady Jets responded in the bottom of the second by taking the lead and scoring three runs. Both teams scored one run in the third and fourth innings. Lake Michigan could not push any runs across in the fifth but Jackson was able to score two runs. The Lady Red Hawks did not fall quietly as they were able to score two more runs in the top of the seventh but it wasn't enough and they fell 5-7.

Jordyn Swinehart lead the women with three singles and three RBI's. Tegan Bays had a single with an RBI while Kiarra Herson hit a triple and a single in the game. Kiarra Herson obtained the loss allowing 10 hits, five walks, but also had four strike outs.

The women will head to Grand Rapids Community College on Thursday, March 28, 2019 for a 3:00 pm start.
