Lady Red Hawks Sweep Lady Eagles

Lake Michigan started the game off in the first inning scoring the first run. They maintained the lead until the fourth inning when the Lady Eagles tied it up. Coastal Alabama then took the lead in the fifth scoring two more runs. The Lady Red Hawks would not go away quietly and scored four runs in the sixth taking the lead.  Both teams could not push one across the plate in the seventh, which lead to the Lake Michigan 5-3 win.

Brenna Madry lead the women with a double and two RBI's while Jordyn Swinehart also had a RBI. Kiarra Herson hit a triple as Jaidyn Hutsell hit a double. Jenna Walter and Cassidy Zavoral both had singles. Zavoral led the team defensively while Hutsell brought home the win pitching all seven innings.

The second game started out like the first game with the Lady Red Hawks taking the lead scoring a run in the first inning. The Lady Eagles tied the game in the second making the game 1-1. Jordyn Swinehart opened the game up in the third hitting a grand slam as the women took the lead scoring four more runs. Coastal Alabama did not back down and tied the game by scoring a run in the fourth and fifth then scoring two more in the sixth. Lake Michigan answered back in the seventh to regain the lead for a short period of time as the Lady Eagles tied it up in the bottom of the inning. The Lady Red Hawks kept their torch lit as they were able to push four more runs across the plate in the eighth. Coastal Alabama kept the game interesting as they scored two more runs but could not muster up any more which lead to the the Lake Michigan 10-8 win in eight innings. 

Kiarra Herson obtained the win with three strike outs while Jaidyn Hutsell obtained the save also striking out three batters. Jenna Walter hit a single and a double with two RBI's along with Tegan Bays who also had a single and a double. Brenna Madry hit four singles with an RBI as Swinehart ended with five RBI's during for the game. Herson hit three singles while Cassidy Zavoral hit two singles. Adianna Rangel, Gabby Rothrock, Hutsell all had singles with Hutsell obtaining an RBI.

The women finished their spring break 3-5 and are slated to start conference play against Jackson College at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 with the first game starting at 3:00 pm.
