Men Struggle Against Ocelots

Lake Michigan held their last home game versus Schoolcraft College and fell 0-9.

It was a difficult day for the men as the Ocelots scored within the first five minutes of the game. Lake Michigan defended well for the next thirteen minutes before Schoolcraft could score gain due to a Red Hawk error. The Ocelots scored two more goals within minutes of each other leaving the Red Hawks down 0-3 at the half.

Schoolcraft continued to put pressure on the Lake Michigan defenders and found another opening fifteen minutes into the second half. Another goal was scored six minutes later. The Red Hawks continued to struggle offensively as they could not find ways to break down the Ocelot defenders. Schoolcraft then scored another six goals to finish the game leaving the Red Hawks defeated 0-9.

Mark Resendez (FR/Hartford, MI) had the only shot on goal for the men as Omar Vazquez (FR/Dallas, TX) had six saves.

Five sophomores were honored this afternoon for their commitment to the program. Midfielder Antonio Brito (SO/Dowagiac, MI), forward Ted Langat (SO/Nairobi, Kenya), defender Gustavo Esteves (SO/Piracicaba, Brazil), forward Andrew Kangas (SO/St. Joseph, MI), and midfielder Tony Dennis (SO/Kalamazoo, MI). We thank them for all of their loyalty, time, and hard work.

The men will travel to Ancilla College on Wednesday, September 30, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
