Lake Michigan hosted Muskegon Community College and came up short losing 1-3.
It was a scoreless game for a majority of the first half as the men were matched up well. The Jayhawks were the first ones to score with fifteen minutes remaining. The Red Hawks did not let this deter them has they were relentless against the Muskegon defense. Joao Godinho (FR/Santa Catarina, Brazil) found an opportunity from a pass from Griffin Fitts (FR/St. Joseph, MI) and scored the Lake Michigan goal with 39 seconds left in the first half. The men went into half time tied 1-1.
The second half began like the first but the Jayhawks were able to score at the 75 minute mark. The Red Hawks continued to try and find their opening but were not successful as the Jayhawks scored the last goal with seconds left clinching the win.
Michael Pratt (FR/Lennon, MI) and Ted Langat (SO/Nairobi, Kenya) attempted three shots while Andrew Kangas (SO/St. Joseph, MI) and Mauricio Aguirre (FR/Niles, MI) had one attempt.
The men will hit the road and will head to Lakeland Community College on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm.
