The Red Hawks were quickly looking up at a 13-point deficit, as the Bruins were able to force the Red Hawks into two quick turnovers for easy scores as part of their early run. The early offensive surge from the Bruins combined with offensive struggles allowed the Bruins' lead to balloon throughout the half. The Red Hawks only converted on 29% of their shot attempts while the Bruins connected on 55%. All factors combined, the Bruins took a lead of 49 to 19 to the half-time break.
The Red Hawks offense recovered in the second half, as they converted on 51% of their shots and went 11 for 12 from the free throw line. Unfortunately, the lead that the Bruins had built was too far out of reach and the Red Hawks could not consistently come up with stops on the defensive end. The Bruins took the 104-77 win.
The Red Hawks saw strong performances from Jumauca Golliday, who scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds, Jamon Walker added 14 points and three rebounds, Devan Nichols tallied 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists, and Jordan Marble added 18 points and five rebounds.
The Red Hawks next game is at home, as they host Muskegon Community College for a scheduled 3:00 tip off on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
