The Red Hawks struggled to get their offense going in Friday night's loss to the Ancilla Chargers. Both teams had trouble scoring as the game started. The Red Hawks only surge of the night came partway through the first half when they charged back to take a two-point lead with just under nine minutes to play. The Chargers quickly regained the lead and never looked back leaving the half with a 39-29 lead.
Ancilla controlled the second half completely. Their tough defense and rebounding held the Red Hawks at bay, forcing them to rely on outside shooting that was not connecting. Lake Michigan also gave up 18 offensive rebounds on the night, leading to many second chance opportunities for the Chargers. As the second half moved on Ancilla was able to stretch the margin, leading to an eventual 88-60 loss for the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks head back on the road for their next contest as they travel to Muskegon Community College on Monday, February 4, 2019 for a 7:30 pm tip.
