Another Road Loss For The Red Hawks
The Red Hawks traveled to Mid Michigan Community College and despite their efforts fell 71-84.
The Lake Michigan College Red Hawks game against the Mid Michigan College Lakers saw many lead changes through a well-played first half. Both teams were able to connect on shots from the perimeter early, which freed up space later for easier opportunities to score at the basket. The lead continued to change hands as the period progressed, but finished in a tied score at 41.
The Lakers came out and started the second half on a 20-6 run sparked by solid defense that kept the Red Hawks from getting the same type of easy shots they had scored on during the first half. The Red Hawks fought back, cutting the lead back to single digits later in the period, but could not come all of the way back as Mid Michigan's offense continued to thrive leading to a 84-71 final.
The Red Hawks were lead in scoring by Khaire Williams with 24 points, Sheddrick Porter added 22, and Adrien Bucha-Moore connected on 3 three-pointers to tally 9 points. Austin Dukesherer led the Red Hawks on the boards with 6 and got support from Justin Henderson and Bucha-Moore who both collected 4.
The Red Hawks move to 3-12 overall and 1-3 in conference play. They will head to Jackson College on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 for a 7:30 pm start.
