Another Weekend Sweep For The Red Hawks
The men hosted Schoolcraft College on Friday and won the double header 6-10 and 7-5.
The men started off strong scoring one in the first inning. Schoolcraft answered back in the third and tied the game with one. The Red Hawks jumped on a streak and scored seven runs in the bottom of the third and then one in the fourth. The Ocelots answered back in the fifth scoring five runs but that was not enough to win. Lake Michigan won game one 10-6. Jonah Sibley took the win for the Red Hawks. Andy Klavins, Cameron Dalrymple, and Kyle Ratliff each had two hits. Klavins had three RBI's while Dalrymple and Roman Kuntz each had two RBI's.
The second game began to look bleak for the men as Schoolcraft scored four runs in the first two innings. Lake Michigan answered back scoring three runs in the bottom of the second and one in the bottom of the third tieing the game. The Ocelots answered back in the top of the fourth taking the lead but the Red Hawks were not done as they scored three more in the bottom of the fifth. The game ended due to darkness with Lake Michigan taking the 7-5 win. Marshall Leishman was the winning pitcher. Andy Klavins went three for three at the plate and Ethan Payment had two hits with both men having an RBI.
Lake Michigan will travel to Davenport University on Tuesday, March 16th for a nine inning game with a 4:00 pm start time.
