Successful Spring Break For the Red Hawks

The men started their break competing against Delta Community College and fell 2-6. Jonah Sibley started the game and allowed two hits with three strike outs. Dylan Matheny came in for relief and struck out four batters without any hits. Andy Klavins led the men with a double and an RBI. Jarrett DeLand, Roman Kuntz, Michael Sibbersen, and Aaron Federman all had singles. 

In the second game, the men faced Frederick Community College and fell 3-6. Matt Engler started the game with allowing four hits and struck out eight batters. Michael Sibbersen came in for relief and allowed a hit with a strikeout followed by Tyler Pursley, who struck out three batters with no hits. Roman Kuntz led the team with a triple and a single with an RBI while Caleb Schmitt hit a double with an RBI. Chance Kirkwood hit a single with an RBI while Aaron Federman also hit a single. 

On day two, the Red Hawks entered into a double header with Delta Community College winning both games 8-7 and 13-6. In the first game, Marshall Leishman took to the mound allowing five hits, five runs, but struck out four batters. Clay Bixby entered the game and allowed four hits, one run, and had two strikeouts followed by Dylan Matheny who allowed two hits and one run. Hunter Bedell finished with the win allowing only one hit with no runs. Jarrett DeLand and Caleb Schmitt hit two doubles with Deland also having a single and Schmitt having four RBI's. Jonah Sibley had three hits with an RBI and Roman Kuntz hit a single with an RBI. 

In the second game, Nick Henman started the game allowing five hits, six runs, and striking out two batters. Lane Martinek came in for relief and allowed one hit and also struck out two batters. Kyle Veersma hit a triple and a single with an RBI while Cameron Dalrymple hit three singles with two RBI's. Devin Pulling had a single with two RBI's as Roman Kuntz had two RBI's. 

The men faced Frederick Community College on the third day for a double header and lost the first game 3-7 but won the second game 10-9. Payton Carney began the first game and allowed five hits, with seven runs, and struck out one batter. Tyler Pursley came in for relief and allowed two hits while striking out two batters. Jacob Mahoney hit a double and a single with an RBI. Johah Sibley, Kyle Veersma, Jarrett DeLand, and Chance Kirkwood all hit singles with DeLand and Kirkwood having RBI's. 

In the second game, Hunter Bedell started the game and allowed two hits and four runs. Caleb Schmitt came for in for relief and allowed six hits, five runs, and five strikeouts. Devin Pulling hit three singles with an RBI while Jonah Sibley and Cameron Dalrymple hit two singles with RBI's. Jarrett DeLand, Owen Benson, Roman Kuntz, and Kyle Veersma all had singles with RBI's while Andy Klavins had two RBI's due to a sacrifice fly. 

On the fourth day of play, the men defeated Frederick Community College 5-4 and then won to Vermilion Community Collgee 2-1. In the first game, Clay Bixby started the game with four hits, three runs, and two strikeouts followed by Dylan Matheny who had two hits, one run, and five strikeouts. Roman Kuntz blasted a homerun with an RBI. Andy Klavins hit a double and a single with a RBI while Cameron Dalrymple hit a single with an RBI.

Against Vermilion, Lane Martinek began the game and pitched six innings with two hits, one run, with 10 strikeouts. Nick Henman came in for three innings with allowing one hit with four strikeouts. Michael Sibbersen and Jacob Mahoney both hit singles with RBI's. Brandon Rogers and Tyler Pursley also hit a singles. 

On their fifth day of play, the men faced Vermilion Community College and won 4-3. Jonah Sibley started the game and allowed three hits, one run, and five strikeouts. Tyler Pursley came in for relief and allowed two hits, one run, and three strikeouts. Cameron Dalrymple led the men with two hits and three RBI's while Owen Benson hit a double with an RBI. Andy Klavins also hit a double for the Red Hawks. 

There last day, the Red Hawks played Minnesota State Community & Technical College and lost the first game 5-8 and won the second game 9-6. Matt Engler started the first game with five hits, four runs, and four strikeouts. Clay Bixby entered into the game and allowed three hits, three runs, and two strike outs. Roman Kuntz led the men with a triple and a double and two RBI's. Owen Benson and Caleb Schmitt had two singles while Deving Pulling, Chance Kirkwood, and Aaron Federman all had singles. Andy Klavins hit a sacrifice fly with an RBI. 

In the second game, Marshall Leishman started the game allowing two hits, two runs, and striking out nine batters. Payton Carney came in for an inning and allowed one hit, four runs, and two strikeouts. Dylan Matheny closed the game allowing one hit and two strikeouts. Cameron Dalrymple had two singles for the men. Jonah Sibley hit a single with two RBI's while Roman Kuntz hit a single with an RBI. Aaron Federman had two RBI's as Andy Klavins had one RBI. 

The men travel to Adrian College to play on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM.
