Baseball Struggled Against The Tigers

The Red Hawks finished their Spring Trip at Chattanooga State Community College and fell 0-10 and 0-15 in five innings each game.

The game started off slow as Howie Ewing (SO/Ottawa Lake, MI) took to the mound. The Tigers scored one in the first and one in the second inning. Errors began to plague the Red Hawks in the third inning along with Chattanooga being able to get their timing down as they scored five runs. Marcus Bradford (FR/St.Joseph, MI) came into relieve and was able to get out of the inning. Lake Michigan held the Tigers in the fourth but they came back in the fifth and scored three more runs. Dalton Riddle (FR/Buchanan, MI) came in to finish the game and the Red Hawks could not put any on the board and fell 0-10 in five innings.

Dalton Riddle hit a double for the men in the top of the fourth followed by a single by Cole Searles (FR/Niles, MI).

In the second game, both teams were scoreless until the second inning when the Tigers scored five runs off of Brant Rago (FR/Berrien Springs, MI). Chattanooga was able to dominate the third inning scoring three more runs and the errors did not help the Red Hawks. Zachary Banks (FR/St. Thomas, ON) came in to relieve in the fourth and the Tigers executed and scored seven more runs. The Red Hawks struggled at the plate and fell 0-15 in five innings.

Brant Rago was able to strike out six while Banks struck out two. Chad Adkerson (FR/Buchanan, MI), Chad Liddle, and Marcus Bradford all hit singles for the Red Hawks.

The men will host Lansing Community College for a non-conference game on March 20, 2018 for a double header starting at 2:00 pm.
