The Men Were Triumphant Against The Flying Dutchman In OT

The men traveled to Hope College and ended the night with a great 91-87 overtime win.

It was another nail biter for the men as they started the game off slow and ended the first half down by seven points. The men came out determined in the second half, as Bryce Saxton (SO/Cassopolis, MI) and James Smith (SO/Chicago, IL) both hit key shots that helped the men gain a ten point lead along with the Lake Michigan defensive pressure. Hope College did not go down easy as they were able to tie the game up with 1.6 seconds to go in the second half and took the game into overtime. With the game on the line, the Red Hawks broke out fast and obtained a 90-87 lead with 19.8 seconds remaining on the clock. They were able to draw a foul with seconds left and connected with the basket, walking off the court successfully with a 91-87 overtime win.

James Smith ended the night with twenty four points while Bryce ended with eighteen points and seven assists. Malik Hall (SO/Benton Harbor, MI) also had fourteen points and eleven rebounds.

The men will host Andrews University on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 7:30 pm.
