The Lady Red Hawks traveled to the east side of Michigan to compete against St. Clair Community College and Mott Community College.

The women started the evening off against the Lady Skippers and fell in the first set 19-25.  In the second set, the women could not find a rhythm and lost to the Lady Skippers 13-25.  They rebounded in the third set and won 25-15 but fell in the fourth set 19-25 losing the match.

Bailee May (SO/Centreville, MI) had eleven kills, four aces, and two blocks.  Megan Sollman (SO/South Haven, MI ) had seven kills, one ace, and ten digs while Nola Wallace (FR/Niles, MI) followed with six kills, and one block.  Taylor Strauss (FR/Buchanan, MI) led the defense with twenty six digs while Madison Hunter (SO/Centreville, MI) had twenty three assists.

The second match was against Mott Community College and the women lost in three sets.  Lake Michigan started out strong in the beginning but fell short 19-25 in the first set.  They struggled in the second set and were defeated 11-25. The Lady Red Hawks battled in the third set but lost strength and fell 21-25.

Nola Wallace led the women with nine kills followed by Bailee May with eight kills, four aces, four digs, and one block.  Taylor Strauss led the women with twelve digs and Madison Hunter had twenty two assists.

The women will travel to Jackson Community College on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 6:30 pm.
