The Lady Red Hawks hosted the Lady Chargers for their first home game and lost in the match in four sets.

The Chargers took the lead in the first set as Lake Michigan tried to gain their ground.  At one point the women were down by thirteen points but battled back to close the gap by seven points although they fell short losing 17-25.  Isabella Vaz (FR/Berrien Springs, MI) led the women serving six of the seventeen points.

The second set stared out like the first with Ancilla gaining a solid lead against the Lady Red Hawks. But the game took a turn when Taylor Strauss (FR/Buchanan, MI) pushed across five points in a row to close the gap.   Their run was not enough to take the win as they fell 19-25.

Lake Michigan came out strong in the third match taking the lead and did not look back.  Madison Hunter (SO/Centreville, MI) and Megan Sollman (SO/South Haven, MI ) served five consecutive points that aided in the 25-14 win over Ancilla.

The fourth set was dominated by Ancilla as they were able to string along several points together to gain the lead over Lake Michigan.  The Lady Red Hawks could not catch up and fell 16-25.  Megan Sollman had the most points scored with four.

Bailee May (SO/Centreville, MI) was strong at the net with 15 kills and Megan Sollman was not far behind with 14, as Madison Hunter stood out with 33 assists.

The women will head to Cornerstone University to scrimmage the Lady Golden Eagles on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 6:00 pm.
