The men hosted Ancilla College for their last home conference game of the year and won 7-3 and 9-8 on sophomore day.

The Red Hawks started the game off strong scoring in the first and second innings.  The Chargers tied the game in the top of the third but the men answered back scoring three more runs taking a 5-2 lead.  Lake Michigan did not stop there and scored in the bottom of the fourth and both teams scored one run in the sixth.  The Red Hawks held Ancilla off in the seventh and took the 7-3 win.

Aaron Moskovitz (SO/West Bloomfield, MI) took to the mound and pitched all seven innings gaining the win with five strike outs and only allowing two earned runs.  Chad Paddock (SO/Comstock, MI) hit a double and a single with three RBI's.  Damion Pompey (FR/Cassopolis, MI) also hit a double and a single with an RBI.  Derek Gribler (SO/Lawrence, MI) hit a double while Travis Keys (FR/London, ON), Charlie Frodl, and Wyatt Thornton (SO/Niles, MI) all hit singles.

The second game started off like the first game with the Red Hawks scoring first.  But it took a different turn when the Chargers scored five runs in the top of the second.  The men did not stay quiet and pushed three more over the plate at the bottom of that inning, still trailing by one run.   They held Ancilla in the third and took the lead in the bottom the inning scoring three more runs.  The Chargers then answered back in the fourth scoring one more run but could not take the lead.  Both teams were silent at the plate until the seventh when the Chargers took the lead making the score 8-7.  The Red Hawks prevailed scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh making the score 9-8.

Kyle Williamson (SO/Big Rapids, MI) began the game and obtained the win with three strike outs and four earned runs in four innings.  Ryan Joyce (FR/Lisle, IL) came in for relief and closed the game with one strike out and one earned run.  Troy Lofgren (SO/London, ON) hit a triple and two singles with two RBI's.  Damion Pompey hit two doubles with an RBI while Chad Paddock also hit a double and a single with an RBI.  Wyatt Thornton hit two singles while Zach Grishaber (FR/Niles, MI) and Travis Keys both hit singles.

The men will finish their season at Ancilla College on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm for a double header.
