The men traveled to Glen Oaks Community College and won both 11-8 in eight innings and 13-7 for the sweep.

The first game was a battle back and forth but the Red Hawks scored first in the first and second innings.  The Raiders took the lead in the third scoring four runs making the game 4-2.  Hunter Nagle (FR/Ottawa Lake, MI) shut Glen Oaks out in the fourth and fifth innings as the men dominated in the fifth scoring four runs taking the lead and two more in the sixth inning.  The Raiders tied the game in the seventh scoring four runs and the men headed into the eighth inning.  Lake Michigan prevailed scoring three runs and held the Raiders at bay to take the 11-8 win.

Hunter Nagle was able to strike out three batters but allowed seven runs.  Kyle Williamson (SO/Big Rapids, MI) came into relieve and but it was Derek Gribler (SO/Lawrence, MI) who received the win and struck out one batter.  Travis Keys (FR/London, ON) blasted a homerun and also hit a single, obtaining four RBI's.  Derek Gribler hit a triple with an RBI while Chad Paddock (SO/Comstock, MI) and Charlie Frodl hit three singles both with two RBI's.  Damion Pompey (FR/Cassopolis, MI), Troy Lofgren (SO/London, ON), Zach Grishaber (FR/Niles, MI) hit singles as Wyatt Thornton (SO/Niles, MI) hit a single with an RBI. 

Glen Oaks started the game off hot scoring six runs in the first two innings.  The Red Hawks only scored one run in the first and one in the third but this did not deter the men.  They were able to push six runs across in the fifth, two in the sixth, and finished strong with three runs scored in the seventh inning.  The Raiders tried to answer back in the seventh but could only score one run and Lake Michigan came home with the 13-7 win. 

Ryan Joyce (FR/Lisle, IL) started the game and struck out two batters and allowed four earned runs.  Wyatt Thornton then came in for relief, gaining the win, pitching five innings and striking out two batters.  It was Travis Keys that came up big for the men hitting one out of the park and having two singles obtaining seven RBI's.  Chad Paddock hit a triple and a double with two RBI's as Troy Lofgren also hit a double with two RBI's. Nick Baker (FR/Cassopolis, MI) hit two singles while Derek Gribler and Wyatt Thornton both hit singles in this game. 

The men will travel to Ancilla College on Friday, May 5, 2017 for a double header starting at 2:00 pm.
