Glen Oaks traveled to Lake Michigan for a double header that ended in a Red Hawks 3-2 win and a 5-11 loss.

Lake Michigan was the first to score pushing two runs across the plate in the first inning.  The Raiders were then able to score in the second and tied it up 2-2 in the third inning.  The men took the lead in the fourth inning scoring one more run.  Travis Keys (FR/London, ON) was able to shut down Glen Oaks the rest of the game and came out with the 3-2 win.

Derek Gribler (SO/Lawrence, MI) hit a double with an RBI while Charlie Frodl hit a single with an RBI.  Damion Pompey (FR/Cassopolis, MI) also hit a double as Chad Paddock (SO/Comstock, MI) and Zach Grishaber (FR/Niles, MI) both had singles.  Travis Keys pitched lights out with twelve strikeouts and did not allow an earned run.

Both teams scored one run in the first inning and in the second but the Raiders were able to score two more in the third and took the lead.  Lake Michigan tried to answer back but could only push one run across in the bottom of the third.  Both teams were quiet in the fourth and in the top of the fifth the wheels came off for the Red Hawks.  Glen Oaks was able to score seven runs to take a huge lead.  The men held the Raiders in the sixth and seventh while scoring two more runs but it was not enough to win the game.   They ended in a 5-11 loss.

Damion Pompey hit a two RBI home run and a single while Wyatt Thornton (SO/Niles, MI) hit a home run as well.  Chad Paddock hit a double as Travis Keys hit two singles.  Charlie Frodl and Tyler Holmes (SO/Jackson, MI) also connected and obtained singles.  Howie Ewing (FR/Whiteford, MI) started the second game, lasting four innings, and ended with the loss.  Ryan Joyce (FR/Lisle, IL) and Aaron Moskovitz (SO/West Bloomfield, MI) came in for relief.

The men will travel to Glen Oaks Community College on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm for a double header.
