The men hosted Grand Rapids Community College and fell in both games 3-13 and 3-10.

It was a difficult day for the Red Hawks, as the Raiders scored seven runs in the first three innings.  The men were able to score three runs from a home run hit by Chad Paddock (SO/Comstock, MI) but could not find a way to produce another run.  Grand Rapids kept there lead going when they scored three runs in the sixth and seventh innings resulting in a 3-13 Lake Michigan loss.

Damion Pompey (FR/Cassopolis, MI) and Charles Frodl (SO/Cedar Springs, MI) hit two singles and scored via Chad Paddocks three RBI home run.  Travis Keys (FR/London, ON) pitched a whole two innings and struck out five batters.  Wyatt Thornton (SO/Niles, MI) was put in as relief and struck out one batter.

The second game was a lot like the first as Grand Rapids scored one run right out of the gate in the first inning.  They were then able to score in the second and two more in the fourth.  Lake Michigan was able to push one across the plate in the bottom of the fourth.  The Raiders answered back in the fifth scoring three runs and again in the seventh.  Lake Michigan was able to score one run in the sixth and seventh but it was not enough to gain control of the game and they fell 3-10.

Derek Gribler (SO/Lawrence, MI) and Wyatt Thornton both hit doubles for the Red Hawks.  Damion Pompey, Nick Baker (FR/Cassopolis, MI), Charles Frodl, Tyler Holmes (SO/Jackson, MI), A.J. Green (FR/Cassopolis, MI), and Matt Kemp (FR/Hartford, MI) all had singles.  Howie Ewing (FR/Whiteford, MI) started the game and struck out three batters.  Kyle Williamson (SO/Big Rapids, MI) then came in for relief in the fifth inning to finish the game and had one strike out.

The men will travel to Grand Rapids Community College on Sunday, April 23, 2017 for a double header that will begin at 1:00 pm.
