The Lady Red Hawks traveled to Kalamazoo Valley Community College and lost the first game 0-8 in five innings and the second 1-2.

It was a tough first game for Lake Michigan, as they were not able to score a run.  Kalamazoo Valley was able to time starting pitcher Madison Whitlow (FR/Three Oaks, MI) as well as taking advantage of the Lady Red Hawk errors.  The Lady Cougars were able to score three in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth, and the last one to win the game 8-0 in the fifth inning.

Anna Riggenbach (FR/Bridgman, MI), Erica Zandarski (FR/Three Oaks, MI), and Kailee Cheek (FR/Watervliet, MI) all had singles in this game for the women.

In the second game, the women competed scoring the first run in the first inning.  The women battled back and fourth when an error allowed Kalamazoo Valley to score a run in the fifth inning.   The Lady Red Hawks could not execute losing 1-2 due to a error that allowed the Lady Cougars to score again in the sixth inning.

Anna Riggenbach was strong along the mound and only allowed two hits and had seven strike outs.  McKinzie Kiggins (FR/Dowagiac, MI) hit a single scoring Angie White (FR/South Haven, MI), who hit two singles.  Alyssa Allen (FR/Dowagiac, MI) and Anna Riggenbach both had singles in this game.

The women will host Grand Rapids Community College on Friday, April 21, 2017 for a double header at 3:00 pm.
