The Lady Red Hawks hosted Kellogg Community College this afternoon and swept them with 5-0 and 2-0 wins.

It was a scoreless first inning but the Lady Red Hawks executed in the second inning scoring two runs.  They were then able to score one more in the third and two in the fifth.  Anna Riggenbach (FR/Bridgman, MI) was the starting pitcher and she and her tough defense held the Lady Bruins at bay from scoring any runs.  She struck out ten batters and only allowed two hits.

Marissa Dodd (FR/Dowagaic, MI), Jade Mosier (FR/Buchanan, MI), and  Angie White (FR/South Haven, MI) all had two singles and an RBI.  McKinzie Kiggins (FR/Dowagiac, MI) and Erica Zandarski (FR/Three Oaks, MI) both had a single and an RBI.  The game ended with a 5-0 Lake Michigan win.

The second game looked a lot like the first.  Karlee Liles (FR/Watervliet, MI) was the starting pitcher and received the win with her scoreless four inning bout.   She was able to strike out one batter and only allowed three hits. Anna Riggenbach then came in to finish and struck out six of the eleven batters faced.  The Bruins allowed the Lady Red Hawks to score one in the fourth and one in the fifth to clinch the 2-0 win.

Angie White stepped up again and hit three singles with one RBI.  Anna Riggenbach obtained and RBI with her sacrifice fly and also had a single.  McKinzie Kiggins hit a double along with Alyssa Allen (FR/Dowagiac, MI) who had a single as well.  Marissa Dodd, Danielle McCoy (SO/St. Joseph, MI), and Kailee Cheek (FR/Watervliet, MI) all hit singles too.

The women will travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 for a double header at 3:00 pm.
