The Lady Red Hawks participated in the NJCAA Region XII District G Championship Tournament game against a strong Kalamazoo Valley Community College team and lost 49-70.

The Lady Red Hawks came out ready to go winning the tip off right out of the gate.  They lead the majority of the first quarter but it was the Lady Cougars that ended ahead by two points.  The women continued to battle in the second quarter with the Lady Red Hawks trailing close behind Kalamazoo Valley.  Lake Michigan ended up taking the lead until the last seconds when the Lady Cougars went up by one after hitting a three point shot to end the half.  It was in the third quarter that they wheels began to fall off for Lake Michigan.  Several turnovers and missed shots led to their demise.  The Lady Cougars were able to take a fourteen point lead at the end of the third and the Lady Red Hawks could not close the gap in the fourth losing 49-70.

Hailey Maas (SO/St. Joseph, MI) was the point leader for the women with 11 points, 1 steal, 2 assists, and 4 rebounds.  Jade Mosier (FR/Buchanan, MI) was the top rebounder with 8 and 10 points, while Haley Madison (SO/St. Joseph, MI) had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

This concluded the women's strong season where they were second in the MCCAA Western Conference with a 15-3 record and a 25-7 overall record.  We appreciate the Women's Basketball team, coaches, and staff for their efforts and their amazing run.
