Men's Basketball - Wed, Feb. 15, 2017

The men could not catch up to the Raiders fast pace offense and their night ended in a 93-102 defeat.

The Red Hawks began the game on a high, winning the tip-off and sinking a three pointer right out of the gate.  This did not last long as Grand Rapids answered back.  The men battled in the first half tying the game up on several occasions but the Raiders were able to pull head and left the Red Hawks down by eleven at half-time.  Lake Michigan did not stop the fight as they were able to out score the Raiders in the second half, but the point differential in the beginning did not allow them to take the lead.  They pulled out all stops and ended up bringing Grand Rapids to the line to try and gain the upper hand but failed losing 93-102.

Jason Walter (SO/Coloma, MI) was the lead scorer on the night with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.  Spencer Adams (FR/South Haven, MI) came in at a close second with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.   While Brian Harris (SO/South Haven, MI) brought in 17 points, with 3 steals, and 1 assist.

Although the men fell to the Raiders, they have clinched a National Junior College Athletic Association Region XII Tournament berth with a 7-6 Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference record.  The men will head to Lansing Community College on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
