Student Athletes were given the opportunity to participate in Make A Difference Day sponsored by the Lake Michigan College Student Life Office.

Several student athletes volunteered their time to local communities to help make a difference for those in need.  Each sports team had representation for this event sponsored by Student Life.  This opportunity kicked off and superseded the Ali 75 initiative that the Athletic Department implemented this year.  Ali 75 is a volunteer opportunity that is dedicated to giving back 75 hours of community service to not only aid in making the local area a better place but to also honor the late, and great Muhammad Ali and his love for giving back.

So far the student athletes have volunteered at Southwest Community Action Agency (Benton Harbor, MI), Emergency Shelter Services (Benton Harbor, MI), Mosaic Resale Shop (Benton Harbor, MI), Berrien County Parks/Silver Beach (St. Joseph, MI), Caring Circle (St. Joseph, MI), Hanson House (Stevensville, MI), and Benton Harbor Street Ministries (Benton Harbor, MI).  The Men's Baseball team also dedicated their time at Berrien Springs Elementary and read to a 1st grade class.

So far the student athletes have volunteered 96 hours of community service and will continue throughout the year.  This not only allows our students to give back to such amazing communities but it also gives them an opportunity to learn life lessons along the way.
