Women's softball hosted Kalamazoo Valley this afternoon and did not come out on the winning end despite their efforts losing the first game 0-6 and the second 1-2 in 8 innings.

The Lady Red Hawks did not produce offensively in the first game which put them in an disadvantage against Kalamazoo Valley.  Errors also plagued the women which allowed the Lady Cougars to score six runs in the 7 innings played.  

In the second game, the women put up a valiant effort extending the game to 8 innings.  The Lady Cougars scored in the first inning but the strong defense stopped them until they were able to push the winning run over in the 8th inning.  Sophomore Mackenzie Orphanidis (SO/Buchanan, MI) secured the only run for the Lady Red Hawks with her 2nd homerun of the year.  Freshman Dezray Watts (FR/South Bend, IN) pitched amazingly and obtained a single.  Sophomore Victoria Ebersol (SO/Niles, MI) also received a single on the day.

The women will host Muskegon Community College on Friday, March 15th at 3:00 pm.
